Coax length calculator

Accurate sizing of the electrical length of a coaxial antenna cable is essential for seamless impedance matching.

If the cable length corresponds to half the wavelength of the operating frequency — corrected by the cable’s own velocity factor — or to an integer multiple thereof, the transceiver will “see” the exact antenna impedance, resulting in no impedance transformation. This is particularly advantageous for well-tuned antenna systems.
Conversely, if the cable length is not properly matched, impedance transformation will occur, which can affect signal transmission and overall performance. (Click here for more information.)
